Take Care of Your Hair
Basics to Help Maintain Your Hair
Wash Often
Frequent shampooing is recommended for an oily scalp with thinning hair (most experts recommend twice a week as a minimum). This reduces surface sebum, which contains DHT. Your hair will become oilier as it becomes thinner. You should wash your hair as often as you need to look good. and for some people, that means every day. Gentle daily shampooing will not damage your hair, and shampooing does not increase hair loss. In fact, not shampooing will increase hair loss.
Wash Right
Apply shampoo to the oiliest part of your scalp and massage your entire scalp gently. Use your fingers, not your nails, and move the suds gradually toward the sides and back of your head. If you shampoo daily, lather once. If you shampoo less frequently, try one or two lathers. Experiment to find the right frequency, and then establish a routine. If you shampoo too often your scalp may become flaky and irritated. If you don't shampoo enough, it will look oily. Always rinse thoroughly with water before drying. Shampoo left on your hair leaves a film that can irritate your scalp and attract dirt.
Use the Right Products

Conditionally Condition
If you need a conditioner, use a tiny amount and apply it to your hair (not your scalp). A separate conditioner, where you can control the amount used, is better than using a shampoo with conditioner added to it.
Handle With Care
After washing and rinsing thoroughly, towel dry your hair gently. Let it naturally dry whenever possible. If you must use a blow dryer, use it on the lowest heat setting and leave your hair slightly damp. While your hair is wet, gently untangle it with your fingers. Wait until your hair is damp or dry to brush or comb it, and then proceed gently and slowly. A natural bristle brush and wide-tooth comb is best for your hair. Brushing and combing are important. For long hair; it distributes the natural oils to the ends. For all hair lengths, brushing and combing also increase circulation to the scalp. To increase blood flow to the scalp, massage your scalp regularly with your fingertips.
